New Acquisitions: Selections from
the Permanent Collection

Comprising a selection of over forty works acquired by the gallery over the last five years, this show demonstrated the broad range that is the hallmark of contemporary visual art practice.The show was comprised of works in a variety of media such as installation, works on paper, photography and painting. The Leonard & Bina Ellen Art Gallery's collecting mission is guided by an ongoing commitment to acquiring representative works from artists across Canada and this exhibition included examples by such renowned artists as Rae Johnson, Pierre Dorion, Aganetha Dyck, John Fox, Gabor Szilasi , Rita Letendre, François Morelli, Otto Rogers, Joanne Tod, Alfred Pellan (1906-1988), Claude Tousignant , Irene Whittome and Betty Goodwin.
